A new home, lifestyle and gift store is coming to Christiansted just in time for holiday shopping. The store is called ADORN and is located on Company Street at the intersection with Queen Cross Street (sharing a building with balter). Opening is set for Friday, November 4 from 4 to 8 p.m.
The proprietors are Kris Massicott (ib designs) and Savannah Holden Ridgway, who designs a line of handbags. Ridgway and her husband Matt recently purchased Caribbean Sea Adventures in Christiansted as well. Ridgway is known for her custom line of leather clutch purses.
Massicott and Ridgway have a simple goal with ADORN . . . to bring back the art of gifting. They are bringing items to the St. Croix market that have never been carried here, many products with an intriguing backstory or philanthropic purpose. Causes supported by the brands ADORN will carry seek to combat challenges of poverty, access to education, and community infrastructure. Inventory will range from candles to casual clothing, from pillows to costume jewelry. In describing their purpose, the co-owners hope to delight the loved ones of their shoppers as they offer a curated collection of memorable gifts. As they source items, Massicott and Ridgway try to support independent designers and handmade artists.
Caribbean Journal touted ADORN as a “must visit” shopping destination for holiday shopping this year. Read more
