March 2026 Events on St. Croix

March is a busy time on St. Croix, with plenty of great events taking place from east to west, Christiansted to Frederiksted. Here’s just a sampling of the goings-on around island this month.
Ziggy’s Sausage Fest
Saturday, March 7
It’s the ultimate East End party with a purpose! Hosted by Ziggy’s and featuring delicious grub from neighbor The Sausage Shack, the Sausage Fest event brings the community together for a great time in support of a great cause: Every sausage, drink, raffle ticket, and shirt sold helps fund the work of the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix, an organization serving our island for over 40 years with shelter, advocacy, counseling, and prevention education for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Folklife Festival
March 6 to 14
Hosted by St. Croix’s famed musicians, the Ten Sleepless Knights, Folklife Festival 2026 kicks off with interactive workshops at the Whim Museum. Participants can explore Quelbe music and the history of Quadrille dance, as well as traditional Virgin Islands cooking, mask-making, basket weaving, and so much more!
Du Your Best Duathlon
Sunday, March 8
A great intro for newbies to the sport, the Virgin Islands Triathlon Du Your Best Duathlon cuts out the “swim” portion and offers two short distances to run-bike-run: a Tri-a-Du, combining 0.5-mile run, 6-mile bike ride, and 1-mile run, and a Sprint distance of a 1-mile run, 14-mile bike ride, and 3-mile run, which can be competed as a relay with a teammate.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade & After-Party
Saturday, March 14
It’s one of St. Croix’s biggest parties of the year, when everyone dons their greenest garb for a day of revelry in Christiansted town. The St. Patrick’s Day parade begins at noon (on island time) and runs the afternoon, with festive floats, marching bands, and majorettes. Later, the party moves to the boardwalk for Kurt Schindler and friends on the Heineken boat, followed by a DJ at Shupe’s on the Boardwalk into the wee hours.
Mama’s Black Sheep Closing Show at Leatherback
Sunday, March 15
Visiting band Mama’s Black Sheep ends its 16th Annual Winter Tour on St. Croix with this final show at Leatherback Brewing Company. Come enjoy the musical duo’s eclectic mix of country, rock, soul, and blues as they perform both originals and covers.
Art Thursday
Thursday, March 19
This seasonal monthly shopping event in downtown Christiansted features longer hours for various boutiques and galleries plus many local vendors showcasing their handmade art, jewelry, and crafts. Check out the Art Thursday Facebook page for specific happenings that evening, or just wander the streets of Christiansted and see what delights you come upon!
Rhythms at Sunset
Friday, March 20
The west side comes alive for this monthly music jam in Frederiksted, hosted by Our Town Frederiksted. Bring your chair or picnic blanket to the waterfront and enjoy the wares of food and drink vendors while enjoying the musical lineup featuring local talents.
St. Croix Animal Welfare Center Fur Ball
Saturday, March 21
The Fur Ball—this year, themed “All That Glitters Is Green”—is the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center’s signature annual fundraiser. To be held at Carambola Golf Club, the evening features cocktails, dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction—all in support of lifesaving programs for island animals. Island chic attire with a touch of green encouraged!
CCT presents “The Play That Goes Wrong”
March 20-22 and 27-28
Caribbean Community Theatre’s March comedy, “The Play That Goes Wrong,” a play within a play, depicts the opening night of a 1920s murder mystery that spirals into chaos as a theater troupe battles missed cues, collapsing sets, forgotten lines, and nonstop mishaps. While the onstage detective works to solve the crime, the bigger question becomes whether the cast can make it to the final curtain. Six performances over two weekends.
Chef Sam Choy’s Lei’d Back Luau
Wednesday, March 25
Join Chef Sam at Sion Farm Distillery for a Hawaiian-style celebration featuring a traditional roasted pig, Sam’s famous poke, fire dancers, a live DJ, and the debut of Mutiny Island Vodka Coconut Retriever. Admission includes all food, drinks, and entertainment.
Spectacular, Spectacular! The Greatest Show On Earth
Friday, March 27
The monthly island talent showcase blends music, dance, and theatrical performances, often with guest appearances by Moko Jumbies and fire dancers—and an open invitation for guests of all ages to take the stage! From songs and poetry to jokes and dance, it’s a lively community event highlighting local talent, with the proceeds supporting a featured fundraising partner.
STXEEMP Kite Festival
Saturday, March 28
The St. Croix East End Marine Park will host its annual Kite Festival the last weekend of the month. Bring your own kite or grab one at the event and enjoy a fun day outdoors with a bouncy house, food vendors, and raffle prizes for the whole family.
