Rhythm & Blues at the Bandstand

If you happened to be down by Fort Christiansvaern Friday evening, your ears may have caught the soothing sounds of the Jazz event that was happening over at the bandstand! What a wonderful way to bring the community together, and show off our Island flair to visitors!

Local musicians gathered to perform for the public. Entertainers included Emogene “Blakness” Cresse – winner of the 2019-2020 Calypso Monarch Competition, multi talented Latin-Jazz artist Rivert Diaz, as well as his young and gifted daughter Ochin Diaz. A special appearance was made by Eddie Russell and his Community Music Band, always a crowd favorite with their mix of Salsa, Jazz and Quelbe rhythms.

So grab a chair, a blanket, or a patch of lawn down at the Fort and enjoy this free music event, the last Friday of every month, music begins at 5:30.

This monthly event is hosted by Community Music, Inc. and is donation and volunteer driven, so please consider donating to help keep the music flowing for all! www.communitymusicinc.org or email donate@communitymusicinc.org
