St. Croix Students Learn Throughout Summer at Lew Muckle Elementary

Program: Learning with Purpose, Extended Learning Opportunity Summer Program

Recently, students presented what they had learned to teachers, parents and other community members at a showcase.  The presentation included songs, drama and PowerPoint presentations on their academic achievements.  Paraprofessional Cherise King performed at the presentation, singing her original song “You Were Born to Soar.”  King works at Ricardo Richards Elementary School.

Presentations:

  • Kindergarten: Legislation / namesake of school (late Virgin Islands Senator Lew Muckle)
  • First grade: History of the school
  • Second grade: Life and achievements of Muckle
  • Third grade: Photo slideshow on history and development of Estate Sion Farm
  • Fourth grade: Prominent alumni of Lew Muckle Elementary
  • Fifth grade: Patriotic songs (Virgin Islands March, Lift Every Voice and Sing, etc.)
