The Blue Mutt, a Christiansted retailer, now offers presale of their first annual St. Croix Muscles & Mutts Calendar. The project is a benefit for the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center, which promotes and provides humane treatment of animals through education, community service and animal protection.

Off-season hours are Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The price per calendar is $20 and domestic shipping is available for a nominal fee. The retail price will be $25.
The calendar features local models and island rescue dogs (some available for adoption), pictured together on west end beaches. Photography services were donated by Photographer Kelly Greer. Models were nominated on Facebook and also volunteered their time. Swimwear for the models was donated by Molly’s Tropical Boutique and Big Beard’s Adventure Tours.
The idea for the fundraising calendar came from a viral video made by firefighters with dogs in Australia. The St. Croix version includes a model from The Virgin Islands Fire Service.
