This Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the annual Vintage and Collectibles Fair will be held at Peter Carl Limpricht Park in Christiansted (10 King Street, between Prince and King Cross Streets). Holiday shoppers can expect approximately 35 exhibitors at the event, including local food vendors. Beyond vintage and collectible items, the fair will encompass many forms of fine art.
Santa will visit the event and read for story time. Other entertainment will include a fashion show from My Girlfriend’s Closet and music from KDM Productions.
This event is a project of the Christiansted Community Alliance, which alongside the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Parks and Recreation, is responsible for the revitalization of Limpricht Park.
One of the event organizers is Interior Designer Twila Wilson of Twila Wilson & Associates, which will be selling batik sarongs from Java at the event. “The purpose behind the Vintage and Collectibles Fair is to bring out the St. Croix community, encourage entrepreneurship and bring vibrancy back to our town parks,” said Wilson. “We hope that if you make something you love, this provides potential to create a business out of it.”
The Christiansted Community Alliance is a non-profit formed in 2013 that brings together island residents: property and business owners; churches; schools; individuals and professionals. Its purpose is to make a concerted effort to ensure safety, clean-up the neighborhoods and revitalize Christiansted.
